The difference between a free man and a slave is the ability to say no. The difference between being a slave and being enslaved is: Are you resisting? And so back in the days of chattel slavery in the United States, there were a lot of slaves who were like, this is the way it is. This is the way it's always been. My master's better than your master. And then there's this very small subset of slaves that are like, I ain't going along with this. I'm getting to the north. I'm stealing the clothes off the clothesline, so I'll have something to wear on the journey. I'm saving my food, so I'll have something to eat on the journey north. I'm reaching out and talking to slaves on other plantations to try and find where the Underground Railroad is. I'm getting the hell out of here. You can be enslaved and be honorable.
You can't be a slave and be honorable. So you have to fight back.
If you know what's going on, you've got to fight back. It's your duty to fight back.

Marc Andreessen was on Joe Rogan, talking about AI and data centers. And it was a really fascinating interview, but he really missed the big idea and what’s really to be feared about AI and data centers. And right now, it seems like a trending topic where people are talking about the water use, and people are talking about the energy consumption. And all of those, to me, are little ancillary issues to what the real danger is behind AI and behind data centers. And so what I wanted to do is I wanted to get into that with you today.
