Michael Ginsberg explains the "HoneyPot" of Substack to Lure in Dissident Journalists & Censor Them

Michael Ginsburg (Actionable Truth): I can't show you a document to prove that, but based on pattern recognition, it becomes fairly, fairly obvious that Substack, potentially from the very beginning, but definitely from the beginning of the pandemic, was created to be a honeypot. Do you know what a honeypot is?

Terry Wolfe: I just know it in sort of the legal idea of cops or law enforcement or the FBI creating a situation that's supposed to attract criminals so that they can catch them.

Michael Ginsburg: Exactly. I mean, I can give a better example, maybe from the cybersecurity space, which I'm more familiar with. So a honeypot is basically you put a server on the perimeter of your network that has no vulnerabilities on purpose. It doesn't actually have really important information, but does have information that looks like it is important or looks like it's authentic, like customer data and stuff like that.

And then you hope that hackers will attack that server for two reasons. First of all, so that they waste their efforts and resources on attacking that server instead of attacking your actual network. And the second thing is to analyze how they operate: what are they doing, what information are they looking at, how they're breaching that particular server. And that gives you an idea of the models around it, like how do they operate. So that's the idea of a honeypot.

So to our example here, as I said before, the idea was to attract all the dissident writers into one platform and create a financial dependency. Because people have built a significant paid subscriber base, leaving it now becomes hard. A lot of people are dependent on it because they also lost their other jobs. This is their livelihood, right? And then we're going to introduce things that you're not going to like. And then your options are either comply or leave, and then potentially lose that revenue.

Terry Wolfe: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Michael Ginsburg: That is the thing. Now, why do I say that that's the case? Because based on pattern recognition, this is exactly what happened with Twitter 2.0, or X under Musk. I think anyone can see that now, unless you really don't understand what's going on. X was a honeypot, is a honeypot. I deleted it as soon as Elon Musk introduced the paid checkmark.

And he was saying so clearly that he wanted it to be the everything app. He was comparing it to WeChat. And I'm like, wow, he's just telling us right in the open that this is just the start. The however many billions he paid for it, it wasn't because he thought Twitter was going to be the free speech future, or that he was going to help humanity or something like that. He was literally saying out loud that it was supposed to be the everything app, which would absolutely have to include some sort of digital ID verification. So I deleted it right then already.

Terry Wolfe: So it's a good comparison.

Michael Ginsburg: And yeah, I mean, I can play the video, but I'm not going to play it. Everyone has seen this video where he says that. And he even said that the social media aspect of X is just a side hustle, just to attract the users. The idea is to replace, to use his words, half of the financial system. X could be half of the global financial system. He said that.

So the idea is, and again, WeChat started as a messenger, and then social media aspects were added to it. But now in China, you cannot live without WeChat.
