The Scam of Substack - Executive Summary
The scam of Substack, in a nutshell, was to create a “honeypot” to attract truth-tellers exposing “government” corruption and criminality who had already been demonetized and censored on every other platform with the promise of earning revenue from subscriptions. For a while, Substack allowed these authors to grow organically. Our own growth on Substack was doubling and coming close to tripling year-over-year until someone flipped the switch in July of 2025, when we (and MANY OTHERS!) saw our revenue and organic growth crater at the same time that Substack began “masturbating” us with fake accounts, censoring comments from Substack readers pointing to our work, and simply not publishing many of our articles even though we had hundreds and hundreds PAID subscribers who were paying Substack to deliver them.
We detail many other aspects of the Substack scam including how other “Control of Perception” cartel monopoly media platforms like CIA Google and Twitter/X wouldn’t publish content on Substack to their platforms keeping Substack authors stuck in the algorithmically controlled ghetto of Substack.

The Art of Liberty Foundation is NOT your average Substack newsletter.
We are exposing what are, essentially, the biggest secrets in the world:
· The MOST Important information in the world is being censored from the public through monopoly media and algorithmic censorship of monopoly search engines, social media, streaming sites, and platforms like Substack.
· The MOST Important Thing Being Censored: Monopoly “Government” is illegitimate on its face and is being run as a criminal enterprise in every country on earth. “Control of Perception” is the Most Powerful Weapon
in Organized Crime’s Arsenal
Since the organized crime banks and “government” have been able to steal over $182 TRILLION dollars from the American people since 1913 alone, then obviously it is very easy for them to spend a couple of hundred billion a year (in the modern age, less in the previous two centuries) to buy up and completely monopolize the media, search engines, streaming sites, and now AI to make sure that no major platform ever explains the reality of the situation to the population.
In fact, the cost of incrementally buying up and monopolizing the dominant media platforms over time is essentially free compared to the value of what they are stealing, AND their overinvestment in the dominant platforms will, ultimately, be monetized by advertising from other monopoly companies they have stolen through fractional reserve banking OR in the case of monopolizing/overcapitalizing certain controlled opposition NGOs, think tanks, and policy shops, it can be understood as a “loss leader” or “the marketing budget”.
What Evidence Do We Have That We (AND OTHERS!)
Are Being Censored on Substack!
Plenty! On July 17, 2025, Substack announced a $100 million investment from BOND (partners include “Ex”-Goldman Sachs, “ex”-In-Q-Tel (The CIA’s VC Fund) and a member of the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Board) The Chernin Group (Ex-News Corp), and Andreessen Horowitz (previously funded other platforms caught similarly censoring content including: Twitter/X, Facebook, BuzzFeed, and Medium).
Immediately following this investment:
• Important News from the Art of Liberty Foundation: Revenue was tracking toward $8,160 annualized at the time of investment ($14,000+ across all Substacks) and had been doubling and almost tripling Year-over-Year; growth stopped, Revenue growth flatlined after consistent year-over-year doubling, and paid subscribers began trending downward for the 1st time ever.
• The Daily News from the Art of Liberty Foundation: Revenue growth flatlined after consistent year-over-year doubling. Views dropped from 750–2,000+ per post to 6–17. Open rates show “N/A” — indicating emails are not being sent.
• Five Meme Friday: Same pattern — growth trajectory broke sharply at the July 2025 investment date. Open rates show “N/A” — indicating emails are not being sent.
• Restacking blocked: Subscribers report being unable to restack our content, with the message “I am not allowed to restack your post.” See screenshot below!
• Substack began NOT syndicating our Daily News stories.. Views dropped to 0-20ish from 750-2000+
This is not subscriber fatigue - We had more Substacks than ever restacking and syndicating our content when growth stopped.
Other Publishers Affected Simultaneously

Multiple unrelated liberty-oriented publishers experienced the identical growth collapse at the identical time:
• Dr. Meryl Nass (merylnass.substack.com): Growth trajectory reversed after July 2025, subscriber count declining from ~50,000
• DJ Mike Winner (djmikewinner.substack.com): 62,787 subscribers, lost ~5,000 subscribers (-7.2%) post-investment
• Zowe Smith (zowe.substack.com): Growth flatlined precisely at the investment date
Precipitous Declines after Publishing Something Especially Incriminating to the Organized Crime “Government”

Debbie Lerman from the Article: Is Substack a Censored Platform
I was first alerted to this trend by Sasha Latypova, with whom I co-published the Covid Dossier – a heavily censored report on the global military/intelligence coordination of the Covid operation. (Try typing Covid Dossier or The Covid Dossier into Google, with or without quotes. In every case, you will not get a link to the Dossier itself, which has thousands of likes and tens of thousands of views on Substack, let alone our most popular interviews, some with over 100K viewers on YouTube).
Sasha noticed the following about her subscriptions: The number of paid subscribers peaked on the date of the release of the Dossier and has been declining precipitously ever since.
Interestingly… Substack is Hiding That Article from the Author’s Top Article List
On a hunch, as I was writing this article, I went to check to see if Substack was censoring Sasha Latypova and Debbie Lerman’s article The Covid Dossier: A record of military and intelligence coordination of the global Covid event, which triggered their apparent demonetization, out of Sasha Latypova’s Top Article archives where most new readers start their browsing.
Sure enough, the article, which has 690 “Likes,” 340 comments, and 197 Restacks, which makes it one of Sasha’s Top Ten articles by Likes, comments, and/or Restacks, has been completely censored out of the Top Articles / Most Popular articles… Not just out of the Top 10.. but out of all Top Articles… (Screenshot of Full Top 10 Here)
Substack Censorship is Part of a Documented Pattern
What we are experiencing is not new. It is the latest chapter in a well-documented pattern of coordinated censorship of independent media:
October 2018 — The Facebook/Twitter Purge
On October 11, 2018, Facebook and Twitter simultaneously deleted hundreds of liberty-oriented pages. Facebook removed 559 pages and 251 accounts in a single action — Free Thought Project (3+ million followers), Art of Liberty Foundation’s Etienne de la Boetie2 account on Facebook, The Anti-Media (2.1 million followers), Cop Block (1.7 million followers), Police the Police (1.9 million followers), and journalist Rachel Blevins (69,000 followers)— under the pretext of “inauthentic behavior.” The purge was later traced to the Atlantic Council, a NATO-affiliated organization funded by Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, and the U.S. government. The purge showed extreme coordination across multiple, ostensibly unaffiliated media platforms simultaneously. The Free Thought Project lost its Facebook page with 3.1 million followers, its Twitter account, and received a strike on its YouTube account the same day. Alex Jones, who we believe is a divisive controlled opposition voice to make the truth movement look clownish and disreputable, became the “poster boy” for deplatforming, getting the left to cheer on his simultaneous removal from Apple, Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, Stitcher, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Mailchimp simultaneously in under week.
2020–2023 — The Twitter Files and Congressional Testimony

Journalist Matt Taibbi’s Twitter Files investigation and subsequent congressional testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government documented a formal infrastructure for government-directed censorship. Key findings entered into the congressional record:
• The FBI, DHS, DOD, CIA, and other agencies submitted spreadsheets of accounts to Twitter for suppression
• For every government agency flagging content, approximately 20 quasi-private entities did the same
• Stanford’s Election Integrity Partnership operated as a government cutout, flagging millions of posts
• The Atlantic Council’s DFRLab received State Department funding while advising platforms on content removal
• Taibbi identified and mapped 50+ organizations in this “Censorship Industrial Complex”
July 2025 — Substack Begins Censoring Right BEFORE it Receives $100M From CIA & Pentagon-Connected Investors
Substack receives $100M from investors with ties to the same financial and intelligence establishment. Participating investor Mark Andreessen, a member of CIA contractor Peter Thiel’s Dialog Society, which was recently caught having secret meetings for TWO DECADES with many of the key executives of other members of the Censorship Industrial Complex, is also an investor in multiple other platforms that have been caught algorithmically suppressing content, demonetizing and deindexing content creators and/or shadow banning content, including Facebook, Medium, and Quora, among others. One of his employees, Hanne Winarsky, an Editorial Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, had already been installed at Substack as Head of Writer Acquisition & Development, where we believe she was recruiting controlled opposition voices and non-political world-class writers on a variety of topics to dilute the impact of truth tellers and distract the audience away from what the heavy hitters were dropping on the platform.
Other investors in their round included BOND Partners (James Bond, Intelligence Agency… get it?) whose partners include “Ex”-Goldman Sachs, “ex”-In-Q-Tel (The CIA’s VC Fund) and a member of the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Board)
Shortly after this funding, our traffic and the traffic of other truth movement creators on Substack begin to crater, as documented above. We think the $100M was a reward for the management team for turning off the truth tellers.
How is Substack Censoring Us (and the Rest of the Truth Movement) on the Platform?
This is obviously some speculation on our part based on the documented history of other similar platforms, many with the exact same investors, being caught doing the exact same thing, but here is what we think is going on:
1. Not e-mailing or sharing (via Notes) specific content shared on the platform
This one isn’t speculation; this one is documented, as we share images above of our Daily News articles and Five Meme Friday newsletter not being e-mailed to either paying or free subscribers, even though Substack is being paid by the paid subscribers to deliver the content. We believe the view count of the Daily News articles above, which used to average ~750 views per article, declining to between 6-17 views, represents views generated by readers directly browsing the home page.
This is known as “Freedom of Speech without Reach.”
Substack published the article… anyone can read it if they have the link and/or find it from the home page of the Daily News, BUT it wasn’t shared via e-mail or Notes. Readers aren’t allowed to restack it (see below!) and, most likely, even if they do it won’t be shown to others. Recommending our Substack might not be shown to others or that recommendation may be pushed to the bottom of the list.
2. Not Allowing Cross-Posting or Restacking of Our Content

What the Censorship Looks Like to Someone Trying to Cross-Post Something Substack Doesn’t Want Shared. If you have never tried to cross-post something forbidden, you might never know this was going on, or maybe Substack allowed it but just didn’t syndicate It
Again, not speculation, as we have multiple reports from readers about not being able to Cross-Post and/or “Restack” our articles and Notes. Keep in mind that even content where the reader THINKS they have successfully cross-posted and/or restacked the content might not be being shown and/or to their own subscribers!
3. Censoring Positive Comments and Links to Our Work in the Comments of Other Substack Creators’ Articles
Again, another example where we aren’t speculating and have proof.
In this example, Christopher Cook, proprietor of the Freedom Scale Substack, had shared two visualizations from our Substack article: The Greatest Theft in Human History – How the Banks and “Government” Will Steal at Least $1.40 MILLION from the Typical Worker… “Legally,” which pointed to the website to download: the full report at ArtOfLiberty.org/Inflation.
Unbelievably (or very believably if you understand the “Control of Perception” system), when I went to “Like” the comment, I was forbidden from liking it (Screenshot), Luckily, because of that censorship, I took a screenshot of all the comments (Screenshot before censorship) because right after I did, the comment and link to our website disappeared completely from the comment list (Screenshot after censorship). Then I posted a comment in the thread exposing the censorship, and that comment was censored! (Screenshot).
Important Warning to Other Substack Creators: I was lucky to stumble across this and take screenshots; this may be happening to YOU without your knowing it!
4. Recruiting and Promoting Controlled Opposition Voices to the Platform While Simultaneously Algorithmically Boosting Their Content
We think this was the #1 job of former Andreessen Horowitz employee Hanne Winarsky, where Substack scrambled to water down the truth tellers who flocked to the platform by recruiting both Controlled Opposition voices and legitimately talented writers writing about ANYTHING except The Most Important Topics in the World to distract the audience away from the triple-digit growth the leading truth tellers were having on the platform.
5. Not Indexing the articles and content created on the platform on Google, Twitter/X and other organized crime monopoly media platforms
Substack author Debbie Lerman broke it down in her article: Is Substack a Censored Platform – Here is Some Evidence It is:
At this point it seems indisputable that Substack — or at least a notable subset of Substack writers — is heavily blocked and censored on major platforms from X to Google.
Famously, as summarized by one Twitter/X user in 2023:“Substack writers cannot embed tweets in their posts.
Twitter users cannot retweet or like tweets with Substack links.”
In a September 2024 conversation about this blockage, Substack founders Hamish McKenzie and Chris Best noted that the most extreme measures taken against Substack by X in 2023 have been lifted, and that blocking or impeding links to other sites is a natural business choice for any platform that needs eyeballs and attention glued to itself.
Nevertheless, the linking barriers between X and Substack severely curtail the ability of Substack authors to access X’s massive user base.
As for Google and other platforms, as John Leake, an author at the Substack “Focal Points” (formerly Courageous Discourse) wrote on August 11, 2025:
I noticed that none of my most popular Substack posts and video interviews were being shared in Google search results for “Author John Leake.” Posts and videos that received over 100,000 views on Substack were nowhere to be found in Google search results.
Moreover, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube were also (apparently) blocking or shadow-banning links to our Substack posts and videos.
In light of this, we perceived Substack to be something akin to the old Jewish ghettos of Europe. While ghettos in cities such as Venice, Rome, Vienna, and Krakow were large and flourishing neighborhoods, they were still more or less walled off from the rest of the city. Such ghettos were also vulnerable to occasional pogroms.
6. “Masturbating” Substack Authors with Fake Free Subscribers while their Paid Accounts and Authentic Free Accounts Tank because of Shadow Banning, Deindexing and other tricks?
Is Substack “Masturbating” Authors with Fake Free Subscribers as they turn down organic discoverability, Cross-Posting, and restacking to keep authors on the platform and mask censorship? Here are some example accounts with no-cost gmail addresses and 659, 760 and 951 other Substack subscriptions as examples.
Right around the time we noticed the precipitous decline in paid subscribers, we noticed an uptick in what appears to be fake accounts that frequently are:
1. Subscribed to 600, 700, 800 and 900+ Substacks.
2. Have no-cost e-mail addresses on CIA Google Gmail or other cartel platforms.
We reached out to numerous of these suspicious accounts explaining our concerns and asking them to reply, with no replies. Our percentage of paid subscribers to free subscribers has dropped significantly, giving weight to this thesis.
So… We are LEAVING Substack… and YOU SHOULD TOO!
Once we realized the extent to which Substack was censoring us and all the little tricks it is playing on readers, we made the decision to leave and build our own censorship-resistant platform. Building the websites and hardening them against censorship took $25,000, so we are asking all our subscribers (and anyone who values freedom of speech!) to become paid members on the new website.
