Last night Germany’s much-maligned AfD party won a crushing and historic victory.
Etienne Note: Notice the disparity in the mail-in ballots. All the organized crime “governments” are rigging their elections and pretending to let the population elect the “leaders.” Part of the reason that “government” is such a dumb idea is that the elections are so easily rigged with unauditable black box voting machines, mail-in ballots, monopoly media, disparity of campaign funds, splitting the vote, etc.
Last night Germany’s much-maligned AfD party won a crushing and historic victory. The victory is already being downplayed by many, owing to the fact that Saxony-Anhalt is technically one of Germany’s smallest and least consequential states. But there is far more to it than sheer numbers, as the win defines a turning point not only in German but European politics, and cements the gradual downfall of the globalist ruling class that has tried desperately for decades to keep populist movements from gaining power, in particular utilizing the “Brandmauer” or “firewall” to suppress the so-called far-right.
The destruction of this firewall is an historic occasion, even if it should come by way of such a seemingly inconsequential state.
Of course, there are other criticisms as well. AfD is seen by many as a kind of Trojan horse, a German “MAGA” party led by a lesbian woman in Alice Weidel. Even so, it represents a striking loss of power for the elites and a turning point which breaks a kind of psychological barrier that will only energize other anti-establishment, “far-right”, or populist parties throughout Europe.
Another secondary effect of the victory is that it has caused the ruling German establishment to go back to the drawing board and review its most unpopular policies, like on immigration, in order to bend with the clearly changing winds.
Merz expressed his “deep shock” at the election result, foreseeing it having major repercussions on Germany as a whole:
The AfD, however, fell just three seats short of an ‘absolute majority’ which would have allowed it to govern the state alone. Some commentators have pointed out some major ‘anomalies’ in regard to mail-in versus in-person votes. Just like in the highly irregular American 2020 election, every party but AfD was allegedly boosted by disproportionate numbers of mail-in votes:

SOME PARTIES HAVE MORE MAIL IN BALLOTS IN 2026 THAN DURING COVID LOCKDOWNS
This makes no sense. Why would more (or same amount of) people use mail in voting than during COVID hysteria and lockdowns.
It’s only logical that less people use the mail… https://t.co/4GRNm6kcUp pic.twitter.com/JD8HC5KEOr
Perhaps some will argue that AfD supporters are more “old fashioned” and prefer to vote in person, as one poster proposed:
You can explain most of this without a steal.
AfD tells its voters to show up. Mail voters are older, more urban, more credentialed. The 2026 surge was former non-voters and ex-CDU election-day voters.
It still wrecks trust. You get two legal ballots, two Germanys, one number.
But can this really explain such disparities, as seen in this graph?

Sure, these sort of populist and anti-establishment parties often criticize mail-in voting and specifically instruct their adherents to vote in person. But it still serves to raise major eyebrows, particularly when the disparities are so evident and skewed in precisely one “predictable” direction as seems to always be the case.
The AfD’s victory marks another important milestone—the fact that the ruling party is falling below 20 percent nationally for the first time, which puts into context the so-called “irrelevant” size of Saxony-Anhalt and indicates a larger shift overtaking Germany:

Part of the reason of course has to do with mass dissatisfaction with the federal government amongst the populace, as seen in polls like the one below, which shows 88% disfavor:

Meanwhile, AfD has seen surging support amongst many other federal states:
The AfD is reaching unprecedented levels of support in Germany.

After winning 43.8% in Saxony-Anhalt, it is also polling near or above 40% in Saxony and Thuringia. Its rise is strongest in the east, but growing support in western states shows its reach is expanding. pic.twitter.com/TZrjgnXqQn
The establishment is in a moral panic, with mainstream outlets rolling out the usual scare-mongering tactics about the rise of the so-called “far-right”, a designation deemed specious by most when it comes to the AfD:

The above piece urges that far-right parties are beginning to dominate across Europe, and that coalition building and artificial moating tactics are no longer working as before:
Although Saxony-Anhalt, and east Germany in general, is an extreme case, it reflects similar trends in the rest of Europe. Far-right parties are going from strength to strength, with old dominant parties decimated, and party systems fragmented. Consequently, coalition formation is becoming increasingly complicated, particularly if we want to keep the far-right out of power. In many countries, provinces and cities, most democratic parties are having to govern together to exclude the far-right. This often leads to inefficient and unstable coalitions, in turn feeding yet more political dissatisfaction and far-right support.
He brings up a good point mentioned by other experts: that AfD’s victory will force the continual weakening of ruling parties due to their having no choice but to band together and thereby absorb each other’s worst and most unpopular policies.
This was insightfully pointed out by the following commentator:
The election results in Germany are perfect.

Who notes:
The election results in Germany are perfect.
If CDU wants to keep AfD from power, it will have to form a coalition with ALL other parties, including far-left communists.
It will now be even more obvious to everyone that there is only one real choice: remigration or replacement.
Centre-RW parties (like CDU) are now forced to show everyone they are in the replacement camp together with the globalists and communists.
To us, this was obvious all along, but never underestimate the depth to which the masses have been indoctrinated and blinded. For many of them, this will be an eye-opener.
The centre-right will now sign its own death warrant by siding with the far left, or it will split apart and be absorbed by the far-right.
But despite being a raging apologia for inimical establishment Euro-liberalism, the piece actually makes some good points. Namely, that people have begun to divest from the ruling class parties because their political leaders have run out of good ideas for actually improving society, and the life of the common man:
Even worse, most mainstream politicians have accepted that they are unpopular and try to remain in power by arguing that they are the lesser evil and mobilising people to come out to vote against the far right. Ultimately, this is unsustainable. If democratic parties do not develop inspiring manifestos for what they want to achieve in government, liberal democrats will refuse to come out to vote and the far right will win a majority of votes – even if they represent only a minority of the population.
Developing such manifestos will require realism from politicians…
One of the problems emblematic of such punditry however is the nonsensical call for “having it both ways” as a solution to the issues. The author goes on to urge more focus on fairer budgeting, public spending, housing provisions, et cetera. This makes no sense while still maintaining the Euro-establishment position of being heavily pro-war against Russia, supportive of militarization and the initiative to make Germany the most powerful armed forces of the EU, et cetera. These are the very same policies which are bankrupting Germany. You can’t have it both ways, the selfsame policies that radical Euro-leftists like the author support are the very ones that preclude the ability to come up with reasonable budgets, take care of public housing, and fix public spending.
Alice Weidel herself pointed this out: “Germany is de facto bankrupt.”
Focus on waging war on Russia has destroyed Germany’s economy. Again: You can’t have it both ways, as the hopelessly idealistic pundit imagines. The “antidote” for Germany’s ails is itself laced with the very poison killing the nation.
This week Volkswagen announced the closure of four more plants:

FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen’s board of directors on Thursday approved a sweeping cost-cutting plan that would cut 50,000 jobs, slim the company’s model line by half and end auto production at four German plants.
By the way, has anyone considered the irony of Germany’s latest self-destructive folly? The country has accused Russia of major terrorism over the drone “incidents” at German airports, all the while ignoring the actual proven terrorism carried out by Ukraine at the destruction of Nord Stream, which effectively crippled the entire German economy.
Now the situation is clearly trending downward for the Euro-establishment. The French presidential elections are coming up next year and Marine Le Pen is already highly favored according to all the latest polls:

Similarly in the UK, Nigel Farage’s Reform party has jumped into the national lead, and though the general elections are officially scheduled for 2029, Farage himself believes they can happen in months:
Nigel Farage has one overriding task: to convince voters he’s ready to take over as British prime minister in an election he believes may be just months away. https://t.co/KTaiAO3FLm

Nigel Farage has one overriding task: to convince voters he’s ready to take over as British prime minister in an election he believes may be just months away.
Farage believes the government’s deep crisis will force some kind of early snap elections by next year, at which point he could storm into office.
Though this may not be particularly likely, the trending line in Europe is clear. The “populist”, Euro-skeptic, and “far-right” parties are slowly taking over, leaving the globalists in panic, scrambling to come up with new schemes and scams to hold on to power just a little longer. This direction is clearly the reason for why Putin remains so particularly confident in Ukraine—because he knows that as long as Russia can maintain economic equilibrium while slowly prosecuting its military campaign, Ukraine’s foundations of support in Europe will crumble, and there will be little of resistance left.
Time is not on the globalists’ side anymore, and any new halfway measure they take to buy more of it only undercuts their own platforms further by exposing their previous policies as disastrous follies. The ruling class parties now remain in a true zugzwang position, unable to make any move that is not detrimental to their existence: the more they erect a ‘cordon sanitaire’ against the now ascendant “far-right” parties, the more they expose their own irrelevance and malevolence alike. If they open the gates of coalition-making, they dilute their own radical policies which can only function at their full radical strength, as well as absorb each other’s worst traits to the detriment of their public image and political capital.
In short: they’re now backed into a corner and have no where to run. There are some mentioned antecedents for subtle disarming of a nascent “far-right” movement. Denmark did this successfully in the early 2000s after the ruling parties adopted some of the “hardline” DF party’s anti-migrant positions, thus watering down DF’s rising popularity. But those were different times, globalism had not yet shown its true face as having immiserated the entire continent to such a degree as the current crisis period is seeing now.
There is little chance for the current cartoon cast of sock-puppet leaders—some of the worst caricatures in history—like Merz and co. to turn things around; they have simply lost all public mandate in the eyes of the people.
